I have to have a project in tomorrow :( and am having difficulty with the final heading. Basically I have to describe:
the effects of floppy disk's in communication in organisation
the effects of cd-rom's in communication in organisation
the effects of powerpoint in communication in organisation

I have the history and development of the above 3 already done. I'm having real difficulty finding any websites that could help me with the effects in communication. Basically, how have CD-Rom's improved comminication throughout businesses, etc?

Any websites with the least bit of information welcome.

    Thanks.

Since I can't find anything on the above headings I've decided to go with:

the effects of hardware in communication in organisation

I'm willing to stay up all night looking on the net. If anyone can give me decent links I'll honestly send you a few quid. I'm that desperate.

    Try about.com and howthingswork.com.

I don't see how floppy discs help the communication within an organisation. confused.gif

Good decision to change to hardware - look up network hardware (Cisco), video-conferencing, audio conferencing, portable computing, wifi.

Try something like tracing the evolution of computers and wired networks to modern day laptops and wirleless networks.

Thanks a lot Tom. Would you recommend scrapping what I have done so far (history and development of floppy, cd-roms and powerpoint)? Could any of them come to use under my new heading?

Its these projects that bloody ruin an interesting degree (I was never into Essays, etc. in scool). Mind you, we could have chose to do the project on anything but without getting much of a say the two others in my group chose to do it on the effects of computers in communication in organisation. They got to do it on the internet and e-mail while I was stuck with the leftovers.

No, maybe not. You could give an example of a sales rep, armed with his laptop and stuff who has to give a presentation (powerpoint). Take the angle of the mobile workforce, perhaps.

Wow, do they really expect you to go back to the 1980's to research that one?
