I have a project due in tomorrow, based on the Life of the tram in Ireland.

Basically the evolution of the Old Tram to the New Luas Tram.

Was wondering could anyone point me in the direction of some sites to go to for 1500 words on it?? Or even a ready made project along those lines ( no pun intented )?? Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

I'd be betting that you weren't given just one day to do the project and you are supposed to do it yourself not plagiarise from the net.

Sounds like a rather vague project title really. I don't think you will find much specifically on Irish trams on the web, Google is your friend though.

Trams didn't really evolve in Ireland anyway. They were abandoned in favour of buses and cars after the war and not even considered again until the 90s when new systems were being developed in the UK. For the Luas the current design in use on other modern systems was just bought pretty much off the shelf.

For evolution you would have to look at Continental Europe, East and West where trams were not abandoned in the first place.

Cheers for the reply, will be working on projects well in advance in future!!

Lesson learned!! Il tell ya how it goes tomoro!! I cant see a good outcome though!!!!!Its not much of the total Marks for the year..... 15% or something, but I woulda been better off having that under my belt before the end of year exam!!

Wish me luck, Ill need all I can get!

Probably a bit late in the day to be telling ya this but Michael Corcorcan's book "Through Streets Broad And Narrow" is a very good book on Dublin's trams. Not too sure if it's still in the shops though
