McAfee security centre came with it.. it seems ok. People have reccommended zone…

Hey.
I dont have my laptop more than a couple of weeks and after a recent minor fekup I have finally finished installing all my software and music etc. Im still a little unsure how best to keep it safe, especially now that I have broadband.

McAfee security centre came with it.. it seems ok. People have reccommended zone alarm. I used to use Sygate on my old PC and thats what Im used to.
Im not mad about the McAffe firewall setup - the way they expect me to use a volume style drag bar to set levels of security. Also the way occassionally it gets virus updates, taking up bandwidth, without asking me.

Im probably going to just use Sygate.

Any thoughts?

I use www.nod32.ie for my virus protection. First piece of software I've actually felt like I got my moneys worth out of for a long time....

Also, Sygate personal (free edition) does me fine for Firewall.

I'd suggest you look into AdAware and Spybot S&D too for keeping your PC clean :P

As said SyGate,AVG,Adware SE,Spybot will sort ya right out. Want more try the Essential free list
