just wondering what people think of emotional moment, running in the labrokes world stayers on wednsday. he is at 9/1 at the moment.

i saw him at gowran in a race he walked home in. he has won his last three races, all at 3m. AND geraghty is riding.

Have my doubts. Yes, it's a weak Stayers this year in the absence of Iris's Gift and Rhinestone Cowboy (who was a cert for the race prior to the injury and the stable problems that would have troubled him anyway). I mean, winning races in Ireland this year in a canter, but against whom? Hardly the sort of fields to make Francois Doumen wet himself, were they. If it was in a race like the Long Walk or the Rendlesham I might take notice, but it wasn't.

Put it this way, Bannow Bay and Limestone Lad sauntered away with staying hurdles in Ireland but were treated with contempt by Baracouda. And Emotional Moment was only a decent handicapper a couple of years ago, only returning to hurdles because he couldn't jump fences for s**t. He'll be placed, but if L Lad and B Bay weren't good enough, he certainly isn't.

As for Geraghty, I don't care whether the almighty has applied for a license, Baracouda would still beat him.

It would be brilliant if Emotional Moment won. He has been a great horse for the owners. He went close in the Coral Cup 2 years ago and has improved again this year. He's 9/1 at the moment with Rule Supreme at 4/1. I can see Willie Mullins going for the Gold Cup so that 9/1 will be cut straight away.

He's in great form and has a big chance.

Rule Supreme is down at 7/1 on PPower for the Gold Cup

Emotional moment is 11.5 on Betfair at the moment (~10/1) for the Stayers
