    Most of those enclosures can't power from USB a drive bigger than 40gb. You need a special USB Y cable that uses the power from 2 USB ports.

    All the enclosures I've seen come with the special Y cable. And I've seen 80GB powered from a single USB.. it depends on what you connect to.. laptops seem to need 2 more often..
