    Hi,
Could somebody please try the following and let me know how you do it.

I want to be able to tag MP3's from the filename and destination. The problem is, when there is an album with 2 cd's. So for example: I want to tag the following file in the following path.

    Desktop/Music/Albums/Leonard Cohen/The Essential/CD1/01 - Suzanne

So I want the tag to be:
    Artist: Leonard Cohen
    Album: The Essential
    Disc: CD1
    Track No.: 01
    Title: 01 - Suzanne

I also want to be able to rename the following file in the following path, the same way (Please note this has no sub-folder for disc number)

    Desktop/Music/Albums/Leonard Cohen/Songs of Hate and Love/01 - Avalanche

So I want the tag to be:
    Artist: Leonard Cohen
Album: Songs of Hate and Love
Disc: NA (Disc tag will not be written as there is no sub disc)
    Track No.:01
    Title: 01 - Avalanche

Is there any programme that can do all my files in different folders this way in the one go or will I have to either do them individually or will I have to change it to:
    Desktop/Music/Albums/Leonard Cohen/The Essential (CD1)/01 - Suzanne
Please note that I removed the Disc subfolder and have had to create 2 album folders, one called "The Essential (CD1)" and the other, "The Essential (CD2)"

I have tried 3 programmes so far, and they either can't do it, or I don't know how to make them do it

    Any help appreciated!!!
    Thanks

No I didn't, I don't really fancy downloading every mp3 tag software out there, I've downloaded 3 popular ones and none of them seem to be able to do it, so I'm hoping somebody here knows how to do it, or knows software that will do it :o
    thanks though!

Getting tag information from paths/filenames is far too unreliable for any tagging program I've used, to try implement it.

Surely you can't have so many double-albums for this to be a huge problem.

Then again, I'm one of those weirdos who actually enjoys manually organising his collection, structure-wise. I use Tag and Rename for the more tedious task of tagging and track renaming so I end up with:

    Music\Artist\Year - Album\Track # - Track Title

I use the Multi-File-Editor option in T&R to fill in any blank fields.

    Works for me.
