I thought it was a suprisingly good show this year actually!

    Personal highlights:
    - Peter Kay 'Is This The Way To Amarillo? Video (BRILLANT!)
    - Little Britain sketches were suprisingly good also
    - Jimmy Carr (always good) on Blind Date
    - The extremely under-rated Jack Dee (in my opinion anyways!)
    - Chris Evans was pretty good back as host also.. a bit irritating at times though!

    Personal Lowlights:
    - Was disappointed with Alan Partridge
    - The truly awful Lenny Henry
    - Spider-Plant Man (very unfunny but some good cameos in there: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Mackenzie Crook etc.)
    - Fame Academy / Drunk Fame Academy

Sorry but that guy's a complete w4nker IMO.
As for Comic Relief; I'll be charitable since it is a charity and a very worthy one at that, but I just turn over every year; can't stand it. I'd actually be encouraged to donate a sizable sum if the beeb promised to either (a) not show it at all, or (b) put it on one of their digital channels.
But then that's just my bitter and twisted attitude.

Jimmy Carr is still a w4nker though :D

I think the man's brillant... you seen his DVD? Pure hilarity from start to finish!!

Although i don't know why he keeps doing all those Top 100 Shows.... crap!

EDIT: Davey_Devil.. glad to see someone else agrees with me.

Some quotes from the man himself:

"Cats have nine lives. Which makes them ideal for experimentation."

"My dad's dying wish was to have his family around him. I can't
help thinking he would have been better off with more oxygen."

"A lady with a clipboard stopped me in the street the other day.
She said, "Can you spare a few minutes for cancer research?" I said,
"All right, but we won't get much done."

Agreed exactly with all of the above - particularly Peter Kay :)

Genius stuff alright! The man is still definantly one of the best (if not THE best) comedian's out there!

Enjoyed all the guest stars in the video.. loads for all the Peter Kay fans (Brian Potter, Max & Paddy, the Cliff Richard lookalike from Max & Paddy, the dwarf's from Phoenix Nights etc.)

I'm convinced at this stage it's simply to annoy the sh1te out of me. :D
No, I've not seen his DvD, and am basing my opinion of him solely on his various Ch4 appearences mainly in the top 100 things and various other random cameos.
No matter how good he may be, those top100 shows have irreversibly tainted my opinion of him, and TBH I just don't like the look of him nor the way he get's on. Petty, I know, but there ya go...

I have to admi, I'm a bit sick of Jimmy Carr at the moment. By my reckoning, he'd turn up at the opening of an envelope if requested..talk about over exposed.

I tuned it at one point (I changed over during most of the non-comedy bits. Hey, there was Fry & Laurie and s*ft p*rn on the other channels) and he was dressed as a "woman president", and then he mimed a bit of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and said "bee-otch". What the crap?

    Missed Peter Kaye, dammit!

He was Condoleezza Rice. Last i knew, shes not the president, although shes not far off

Singing that bleedin song all day even added it to my mp3 player :(

Good show in general almost all skits raised a chuckle. Watched all of fame academy not by choice and enjoyed it , Ade Edmondson should be on tv more tbh. Altho strangley was hoping the superb Jools Holland band would riot and gang up with Keane and end McFly, all of them in a bloody masscare.

I'd agree with all of that except Peter Kay and Jimmy Carr :p

tbh I didn't see much of it, but I missed Ricky Gervais!

Was he any good? Any 'links'? (Purely for edu-ma-cational purposes of course:))

Oh yeah.. forgot about Ricky Gervais.

I'm a big fan of Gervais but i thought he was a bit disappointing as well.

It was just basically a video diary on how he was asked to go to Africa.. but he's going to New York instead. A few minor chuckles here and there.. but nothing special, to be honest!

Thought it wasnt too bad. im a big fan of Jack Dee....(quality acting from Rosanna wha!!)
and Peter Kay is quality.....the bit where ronnie corbett fell over :D

all the video clips make me cry every year. so sad. :(

For anyone that missed Peter Kay.. i'll upload the 'Road To Amarillo' video to my webspace and post the address here?

It's worth seeing again and again even if you missed it the first time anyways!

OMG! RND 05 was brilliant this year. But I was really elt down by AB Fab kinda felt cheated by it.

I missed everything after the milkybar kid came on, anything good happen after that?

The McFLy interview with the schoolkids was hilarious as well, especially the ignorant blabbering girl. :) Of course, Little Britain was hilarious, as was Vicar of Dibley.

Altough, we do have to point out it was al for a good cause and if I could, I would've donated, but I don't have credit card/cheques and live outside the UK!

OH, basquille, PM me the address if you uploadPeter Kay. That was so funny!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,194 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Yeah, forgot to mention the disappointing Ab Fab. Also the terrible Rosanna Davidson and Graham Norton.

Couldn't put any money forward.. no access to credit card etc. But this was one year i would have definantly put some money forward.

Will put up the address of the video in a little bit. Anything in the charter bout it being against the rules? Doubt it.. it's not exactly the season finale of 24 or anything! :D

    Jimmy Carr = Comic Genius
He was shíte when he was on The Panel - worse than Fiona Looney - and that's saying something...

Alan Partridge interviewing the Milky Bar Kid was probably the best of the lot.

The celebrity University Challenge was also very good.

Alan Partridge was disappointing.. but combining Partridge and Simon Pegg was better alright!

    Missed University Challenge though!

UC was very good. Even more confirmation of what a genius Stephen Fry is!

Jools Holland ruined it for me, complete rubbish he is.

    I thought it was good.
Must say the clips of the people in Africa were very very moving.
Particularly the clips about the young boy they found that had been sold into slave labour after being kidnapped. ( he was 12)
Also the young girl looking for her sister.
Puts a lot of things into perspective.
Was wondering how many of you made donations?
I gave £20 sterling ( not a lot I know) but better than nothing.
