Hey I'm looking for a pair of speakers I can connect to my Zen Micro. I'd like some that have separate volume control on them aside from the volume control on the Zen. Any Ideas what speakers I should get and where to get them anyone? I'm not looking for anythnig too fancy- Just good, loud, clear sound. Somewhere around €30-€50 would be ideal.

Mods: I really wasn't sure where to post this so feel free to move it.

    Thanks, Liz

You need what are known as active speakers, as the mp3 player won't have enough amplification power to drive normal speakers.
Active speakers use either mains power or batteries, both which have drawbacks; mains needs power socket and will limit portability, whilst battery is heavy and expensive unless you use rechargables...

If it's just for the house then hook it up to your hi-fi.
If it's for carting about then be prepared to drag a lot of weight.

I can't recommend anything to you but there are a lot of active speaker systems available out there from €10-€1000+; personally I'd go for Sony when it comes to portability, sound quality and cost...
    Hope that helps...

try www.creative.ie, there are one or two small cheap speakers... and yes, they do free shipping... if it's not big deal to you, then try the refurbished section... and, if you just can't wait for few days, peats in parnell street do some good speakers...

These are the top 2 sellers on amazon, close to your price range, and both fully portable. Another 15 quid or so will get you ni-mh batteries and a charger and save you a lot of cash in the long run...
