Just got back from the game. WOW we did'nt give the french an inch for most of the game. I do think O Driscoll did get enough downward presure on that ball to make it a try. The refs took their time deciding but a wins a win and we will take it anyway we can get it. Henderson did himself alot of favours out there today. He broke the gainline and was feeding O Driscoll with some good ball. Howe's defence was a bit suspect. Especially on that french try. WTF was he doing? Also if I were Denis Hickey I would be crying. The don't use the guy at all and he is so good on the offence.

Even still great performance and hopefully we can get a result against Wales to set us up for England.

I am of the mind that thinks that O'Driscoll got just enough downword pressure on the ball even if it slipped out of his hand. Although after the game he said that it wasn't a try. But like you said FanJ a wins a win.

Ireland had a good win today without playing well. Alot of sloppy play against a very good French Defence in the first half. Driscoll and Henderson were brilliant in the centre once they got the right passes and didn't have to take them standingstill.

A stearner test will be Wales in Cardiff in two weeks. They will be looking for a better result than the one they got today. Great fight back from the Scots though. Brilliant second half.

Its worth mentioning tow its the first time since 1983 we've better the French at Landsdowne.

Enuf with this silly, silly downward pressure rule....If you ask me it was a try, only because nobody was underneath the ball & the benefit of the doubt should be given(offensive team). Thus o'driscoll's effort counted. Hayes & Wallace had killer games on sat + warrant their places on the prov. lions.
