    I have a 3 Mbps down 768 Kbps up DSL connection, $35 a month, no download cap, no contract. Eircom still have a long way to go to catch up to the rest of the world.

    that speed referes to how the download rate :) i.e. on a 1mb line you can expect to download at 100kb/s

    It should be 1Mbps, megabits, not 1MB megabtyes, there is a big difference, actually 8 times the difference.
