Gif problems in netscape

I am using a gif animation as a link to a document in a web page. This works fine in IE but a problem arises with netscape (ahh the joys of web development). When I click on the animation, Word opens up with the desired document but the animation fails to...well..animate after I return from the document. Sometimes half the animation is displayed, othertimes it is completely gone.
It looks very messy and sloppy. Anyone ever come across this before? I went to netscape.com but as usual any search with the words "bug" or "problem" in it fails to give an adequate result (Netscape is obviously perfect.. biggrin.gif).
    Any help appreciated.

    NiG

Do you have a link in your Word document back to the animation or are you just using the back arrow.

I'm just wondering could it be a problem with using the back arrow that the page isn't refreshing.....mayb??

Good point but in netscape the word document opens in a new word program not like in IE where it opens in the browser itself. But maybe the page thinks that it is no longer the focus of the web browser and that it needs to be refreshed after closing down the word document. I'm not sure though. Maybe I should put a refreshMain function in the onClick event for that gif. I'll try it.
    Thanks.
