FTV question

I got 'my friends in the north' to order a FTV card on my behalf. It came in the post yesterday (without any activation) and I stuck it in the box. I had the BBC channels no problem, but no ITV, Channel 4, or Five. I didn't worry about it, and left the card in the box for a few hours to see what transpired. Nothing transpired.
I got my friends to phone up Sky today to activate the card fully, and they were asked for the card, serial, and version No's, which I'd provided tham. They were also asked for the EPG version number, and if the box was connected to a phone line. They didn't know the EPG, since I hadn't given it to them, and they said the box was connected to a phoneline (even though it's not). Waited a couple of hours and still no ITV, C4 etc. I decided to try the 'add channels' route, and I can add ITV etc no problem.
My question - Is leaving the card in overnight/a day likely to bump the missing channels on to the EPG, or will it take another call?
