Weird feeling in my garage...

    Hi all,

Dunno how to start this but for the last 2/3 months I have been getting a strange feeling when I go into the garage. The garage is used as a gym and theres no clutter or old furniture or anything like that in there. Just full of gym equipment. Now its not the garage itself, its just when I enter the garage from the back entrance and when Im at the front end of the garage theres big wooden double doors. In the right hand corner of the garage by the double doors is where I get the weird feeling. Its like as if someone is there watching me. There is absolutely nothing in this corner. But it just feels like im not the only one/thing there.

Now I have not mentioned this to any of my family, but my mum was on the phone the other night talking to her sister and mum was telling her about how she gets this weird feeling in the garage, the same place where I get it. My mums mum died last May and my mum swears it is her, but she was never in the garage when she was alive, and there is nothing in there belonging to her. The house is not an old house and we built it 8 years ago so its not as if someone else has lived there. All opinions welcome. Just thought it was kinda weird that the two of us felt this but didnt tell each other.

Mad stuff, I'm not nearly experienced enough to give any sort of expert opinion but its weird alright.

    hi,

yes it is weird. i never really had much time for this sort of thing but about 5 years ago when me and partner moved into our house, it also definitely had a weird vibe in parts, same thing as you describe that you felt like someone was watching you. don't really know what it was - friends suggested all sorts of things but one friend who was into paranormal stuff suggested burning sage in the four corners of the house (as it apparently cleanses negative happenings or unsettled spirits !!). anyway, we were willing to try anything so we do - it worked a treat. no problems since. you can buy dried sage to burn in small bundles in lots of health food or crafty shops, best of luck, j

Thanks Jackie, anything is worth a try. Nothing worse than an uneasy feeling. Sends your pulse racing.

Lexie, i just asked my friend about it - apparently the process is called smudging. The basic idea with Smudging is that you light your sage stick and just like incense, once it is burning, you quench the flames. After that you take it through your house, and especially into the corners of rooms where supposedly energy is stagnant. Don't forget, this is meant to be a spiritual ceremony so you mustn't just run around the house with a burning sage stick while thinking about that night's dinner menu! You have to imagine the house or yourself being cleansed. You can get white sage for this at The House of Astrology 9 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2. Telephone: 353 (1) 6793404, hope it works out, cheers, jackie

As for the paranormal aspect, sure it might be a ghost, I have no idea. I can suggest one more possible conventional answer. It's very well documented (and to be honest sometimes a constant fallback for skeptical parapyschologists). It's called infra-sound and it can occur naturally for a bunch of reasons. Its sound waves that are like normal sound but their frequency is so low you can't hear it with your ears. However, people (again, well documented) can get all sorts of wierd sensations from it, including sensations of illness, dizziness, being watched etc. I doubt there's a way to get rid of it, but you could probably do a test to see if it there.

I have no idea how that test might work, but im sure a little research on google could lead you to some possible answers.

I have a strange feeling in my crotch. Should I smudge it with a lighted incense stick?

Had this problem. It was a bunch of spooky mice.

Most times when you feel a presence - they are gentle spirits not out to cause harm, just want their presence known.

Sounds like it could be your grandmother and that she is watching over you. Go to a medium, she should be able to contact your grandmother and she will confirm to you if it is her. If not, get the house blessed.

Define energy here, I don't understand.

In this sense energy refers not so much to the scietific currency of work, but more an ether like underpinning energy, ley lines and what not.

    Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Ok, so heres my theory, just dont ask me to prove it:

Certain areas can have 'raised' energy or be intersected by a ley line (which to me is like a magnetic field). Sensitive people can feel this energy, as pressure, tingling, or that feeling of being threatened or watched. Also, I believe that such areas are attractive to spirit/entities/the other side in the same way as moths to a flame. (People with raised energy hold the same attraction) So it could be that the area in question is an area like that, and the spirit element is because of the attraction. I do think its more likely tho, that if your grandma is around, it has nothing to do with that spot, her connection is to her family, you just may be more aware of her because you are tuned in and 'listening' when your near there.

Oh, Im with Zillah on the definition of energy, its a connective element that permeates and links everything. Completely unsubstansiated scientifically, but there you go.

I hate to sounds like a skeptical jerk here, but I still don't get it. You defined energy using the word energy. What exactly do you mean by underpinning energy?

Disclaimer: I'm functioning as a bit of a dictionary here, nothing more.

When they say energy they mean it in the most absolute sense. Chi, quintessence, luminiferous ether, mana, the divine breath, the very fundamental force of existance. The word energy is only used because if they say mana or something people will laugh. Lets call it "magic energy" for now. Magic energy is not the same as heat energy, or kinetic energy etc.

(On the off hand chance you've played Mage, its the prime sphere :D)

That's known as 'the force' isn't it? :)

Or Tesla's ether, zero point energy etc.

The force works as a perfect example of what we're talking about here, perfect!

Zero point energy is very different and to my understanding is a viable scientific theory. And I already mentioned ether.
