    22nd in the rankings. So much for being the e-hub. The World Economic Forum's Networked Readiness Index (NRI) measures the propensity for countries to exploit the opportunities offered by information and communications technology.

    Interesting that we're ranked close to NZ ... a country that is also stuck with a broadband monopoly. Telecom New Zealand is behaving VERY like eircom...although the situation in NZ is slightly worse as there is no real regulatory framework to deal with them. At least we're seeing some progress towards unbundling, even if eircom's managed to hold the show up for a while.

    Not sure how useful such lists are, as they dont disclose the gap between any two positions, 22 is still mediocre at best though. Also in the competitivness league we are a miserable 30, same as last year.
