Im not sure what section to put this question in, so please move if not appropriate.

I have my movies burned onto my laptop and I usually then connect it up to my projector and project the movies onto the wall. As I am setting up my own mini home cinema for myself and want to hook up my laptop, projector and a new Sony DAV-SB300 home cinema kit.

The questions is whether I can hook up them all i.e laptop connected to projector connected to speakers?

As you can guess, I don't really have a clue and am going for the look and the experience more so that the "techie" bit.

    Projector:

    Home Cinema:

Would really appreciate comments and/or help?

You've come to the right place.....

So, the sony home cinema kits have an aux input. If your laptop outputs 5.1, you're set. Take the 5.1 sound output from the laptop, and put it into the aux input on the Sony set (5 euro cable). You can use the projector as before.

    HTH.

I doubt it will have 5.1. If you could live with stereo its just a case of buying a cable to plug it into your speakers. But for 5.1 you will need to buy an external soundcard. Like one of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_Zalman.html
