    hi,

    Anyone know what the best (and hopefully free) application is for recording streaming audio on your pc??

    you could probably use some sound editor like Goldwave to record from the line-in (i think, could be the AUX input...) and just hit record whilst streaming the audio. this is in real time though.

    afair theres also a program (streambox-vcr???) that can grab the file that the audio is streaming from and save it to your hard drive

    if you have win98 then download pro tools free from www.digidesign.com, this will allow you to record from the line in on your pc..

    If you have a Creative Audigy card, an application is bundled that you can use for recording straming audio from the internet.

    If none of the above is any help, go Google OPd2d, a source recorder that encodes to wav or mp3 direct from your soundcard's output to your harddrive. One of my favourite freeware apps...
