The 40 Foot in Dunlaoighaire is doing an early special from 6pm 'til 8... starter, main and dessert for two with comp. bottle of house wine for €60. It doesn't sound like a complete steal, but the food and service there is excellent, not to mention the view.

jeez, that's fairly ****ing expensive for an early bird meal!!

I'd reckon the wine is some house plonk as well.

Unfortunately that's seems to be the going rate these days.
Great for the restaurant as you leave around 8/9pm and they "re use" the table for another meal (at full whack!)

40 ft is just a pub right? or is there a separate "proper" resturaunt?
    Seems steep either way

    Proper restaurant upstairs.
Even the best value earlybird I've come across is still ~€25+/person so, considering the quality of the food, it's a good deal.

Listen try grabit.it and get a early bird cost meal all night or a main course free or something along those lines...way better.

Shouldn't this thread be in Rip Off Ireland? I can see no bargain in a 60 yoyo meal at such
    a poor time.

    ah it's not bad...

30yips a head for a 3 courser with 2 glasses of wine, and out in time to hit the pubs and start your night out...

why would you want to eat a big meal and then go out and get pissed?? It's a waste of money!

too right! spend your extra to get pissed on good premium bottled beers, then go to abras in dun laoghaire for the dodgy €5 kebab which will taste exquisite after 15 buideals
