my eircom broadband ip has just changed dramatically.

for the past two years its been in the 83.xx.xx.xx range [here and in my old house]

now its in the 213.xx.xx.xx range

anyone know whats up with that?

    Why does it matter? :)

Eircom has a number of very different ip ranges.

i had no synch all day long and couldnt get on to my vnc ;)

i came home and rebooted the router and it came up eith this unusual ip.
i know they have differnet ones but afaik they kept bb in the 83 range

anywho thats my first problem with them.
just thought they might have been fuxoring around or something

When I had eircom BB the IP would hange frequently between 83.XXX.XXX.XXX and 213.XXX.XXX.XXX.

    ok gues its nothing unusual.
i just noticed as ive been using no-ip for years and always had an 83 ip

once ages ago when i couldnt view loads of sites eircom advised me to use an old indigo proxy as they only had ips in the 83 range which had not been lifted off some dns blacklists after eircom got acess to the ranges for cheap or some such.
