    Hi all

I am a graphic design student working on a project to design a DVD that could be used in conjunction with a shop selling equipment for extreme sports. I Would be extremely grateful if any of you would have the time to answer the questions below. Thanks for your help. Jennifer

    1. Do you have a DVD player?

    2. Would you watch a DVD on your player or on a computer or both?

    3. Would you find it useful to see a video demo of products that you're thinking of buying?

    4. What particular equipment would you like to see on the DVD?

    5. Would you like to see a "who uses this equipment?" section ?

    6. How do you currently gather information about equipment before purchasing?

    7. Would you like to see pricing information on a video promotional DVD?

    8. If pricing was available online would you access it?

    Hello and welcome!

    1. Yes
    2. Both
    3. Not at all -- not for any of my skating/wakeboarding/windsurfing/spearfishing equipment anyway, perhaps there could be more use for this depending on the sport but I seriously doubt it.
    4. n/a since I think the DVD isn't a great idea myself.
    5. No, it doesn't make any difference to me who uses what equipment, what matters is that it does what is says, on the tin!
    6. start a new thread on boards :p I dunno, there's loads of ways and it depends what I'm after -- the net for research mostly...
    7. No, I don't see the advantage to this at all.
    8. Definitely!

    My computer is my player

    Yes
    jennyrusks wrote:

    Snowboarding, wakeboarding, paragliding, surf..
    jennyrusks wrote:

Not particularly, chances are that people who are sponsored and paid to use a particular brand of equipment will be used, it doesn't necessarily mean they think it is the best equipment
    jennyrusks wrote:
    6. How do you currently gather information about equipment before purchasing?

    Online discussion groups
    jennyrusks wrote:
    7. Would you like to see pricing information on a video promotional DVD?

No, it would be out-of-date too fast, I would always check online for the latest pricing

    1. Do you have a DVD player?
    Yes

    2. Would you watch a DVD on your player or on a computer or both?
    Both

    3. Would you find it useful to see a video demo of products that you're thinking of buying?
    Equipment yes, apparell no.

    4. What particular equipment would you like to see on the DVD?
Snowboards. And lots of them. Also those cool suits that you can jump out of a plane and sort of fly in(well, glide really)...not sure what they're called but you know what I'm talking about...

    5. Would you like to see a "who uses this equipment?" section ?
As long as it wasnt tedious, yes.

    6. How do you currently gather information about equipment before purchasing?
Usually I impule buy the first time and then ask everyone I meet doing it about their equipment and how they like it. If its alot of cash I'll check the net abit and shop around. If your wondering would I buy a DVD for say twenty quid reveiwing all the equipment and giving ratings etc, then I would have to honestly say no. I'd buy a mag for 5 quid tho if it did that!

    7. Would you like to see pricing information on a video promotional DVD?
Only if it was up to date.

    8. If pricing was available online would you access it?
    Yeah.

    1. Do you have a DVD player?
    Yes, I have two.

    2. Would you watch a DVD on your player or on a computer or both?
    Both

    3. Would you find it useful to see a video demo of products that you're thinking of buying?
Not really - see answer 4.

    4. What particular equipment would you like to see on the DVD?
Same answer as TacT really. I think people who are into an extreme sport already know what they're looking for. I don't really need demo's as I know how to use my equipment - I need a specification.

    5. Would you like to see a "who uses this equipment?" section ?
    No

    6. How do you currently gather information about equipment before purchasing?
    Internet, trade magazines, friends.

    7. Would you like to see pricing information on a video promotional DVD?
Pricing is always good. TBH when I see a website or the like that doesn't include pricing I never buy.

    8. If pricing was available online would you access it?
    Yes, see answer 7.
