LOTR BFME Graphics card Question

    Hi,

    I am trying to play BFME on my PC but the whole game slows down to an unuseable level as soon as you go into the map to select a mission.

    I am running on an AMD 1.8GHz machine with 256 ram so that meets minimum specs. However I only have a NVIDIA RIVA TNT model 64 32 MB grapics card.

    Is the card the problem and if so can someone recomend the cheapest card I can get away with. Dont play a lot of game but am hokked on this one. Was playing on my laptop before installing on my PC.

    Ram could also be a problem as in you dont have enough. I have this game my self and i belive it use's alot of ram "i have 1gig".
    Video card is not the best either. I would go and check out the For Sale Tread and c if anyone is selling a chep video card.

    More ram is a good idea.
    Thats not alot to spend on a video card but you could look at this http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=122219&cks=PRL. That would cost you 50euro and another 10euro for postage. Its a PCI card as im not sure if you have an AGP port maybe you can find out ?

    Also if you want another video card post up in the computer thread and more people will be able to advise you on what you need on a low buget!

    i'd say it's your graphics card. i used to have a 1gig athlon with 384ram and the exact same card. i used to have a similar problem with warcraft 3 on that machine. my current machine, a 2500 barton core with 256 dodgy ram pi**es through warcraft3 with an AGPx8 asus ati9200se 128meg with tv out (EUR50 on komplett.ie 12 months ago).

    that said, more (matching!) ram always helps :)
