Had the very good fortune of stumbling across this album during the week.

'The Fire This Time' is a 'Permanent record of the fate of Iraq and a guide to the language of mass media' - essentially a history lesson set to some fantastic electronic beats. I've honestly never heard anything like it.

A narrative runs throughout the entire CD and basically covers everything from the build-up to war (first Gulf war that is) to the aftermath in Iraq. There's an official website here which contains many articles, references and links to back up the content of the album. You can also download some 45 second mp3 clips - but to be honest, you really need to hear the whole thing.

I was very tempted to post this on the Politics board to get people reactions to the political content, although I suppose it is essentially a piece of music so this will do :)

Anyone else heard (of this) album?

HIGHLY recommended if you haven't. Particularly if you're a politically-left-leaning fan of electronica.
