    Hi,
I recently got a sky box. What annoys me is the way sky have put all their crap channels up at the top of the epg with BBC five pages down. Is it possible to rearrange the order these appear in ? The sky box is a panasonic box.

I've also noticed some of the channels I have stutter and are not viewable. Euronews is one of these that should be fine with the sky package I have but is un-watchable. How can some channels not work even though they aren't encrypted ? Thanks in advance.

Firstly, it is not possible to rearrange channels on the EPG.

Secondly, it seems you have a weak signal, which could be for a variety of reasons.

Press Services, System Setup, Signal Meter. Tell us what the readings on the Signal Strength and Signal Quality meters say.

    1. Press the Services button.
    2. Select the Favourite Channels menu
    3. Highlight and save your favourite channels.
    4. Press the Sky button to exit.

Whilst viewing, press the blue button to scroll through your favourite channels and skip the dross.

It's only a partial solution but it's pretty much all that can be done.

Also store favourite channels and then use the blue button and select to view them without having to skip through all the epg channels.

Next best and only option really.

    NO
it is one of the annoyances of SKY - shameless marketing, there is no other reason to have them in your face all the time

only option would be to buy a FTA box - but then you can only see FTA channels with it

takes about 6 button presses to flick between another channel and back again (4 if you have it in favorites) and turning subtitles on and off really annoys.

BTW: if they wanted to allow you to hide the menu / have 0-9 hotkeyed as preferred channels - provide a previous channel button they could just upgrade the EPG over the air any time they liked, so it's not a tecnhical problem just marketing

Read the other thread regarding the upcoming EPG Changes. One of the changes is the ability to block certain channels. I'd imagine they'll remain on the EPG Listings, just PIN blocked.

As all channels have to pay Sky for EPG Listing, none would be too happy if you were able to remove their channel from the listings. :(

Sky's current EPG isn't exactly very child-friendly. There are loads of channels with pretty much soft porn on in the range very near where BBC 1 and 2 are. I'm sure many households with kids or people who don't want to accidently scroll into those kind of channels while flicking around would appreciate the ability to block them.
