comic book bags

I've a few comics that I want to stick in bags, and I know that these are easily available along with backings from FP in Dublin, but I got a comic on e-bay recently and it came in this rather flash 'stiff' plastic bag, does anyone know where these are available in Ireland and what the real name for them is?

    cheers

You'd need to check out the bags and see if they're OK to use. I know some comic bags have too much acid in the plastic and can destroy the comics over time. The colours will fade etc, even if stored in darkness (in a box). So make sure that you're not just going for the stiffness.

If you are just going for the stiffness, you might also look into comic backing. They're cut to size board backings for comics to fit in the bag along with them. Keeps them from bending in any way.

Again, check the comics links sticky at the top of the forum for links to online shops you can purchase them from. If anyone here wants to contact you and tell you about their shop they can, but I don't want to see them on advertising every time someone asks a question.

What your talking about are either comic care (modern or silver age) or Mylar comic bags. You can get them at the 3rd place.

They are pretty cool. It's what I keep all my stuff in.

Thanks both for answering, I am using card board backings at the mo, but i just thought the Mylar ones are cooler, I'll check in 3rd Place to see if they are 'non lethal' to the comics themselves

    cheers
