When a new cd/device/etc is inserted in a computer, a popup menu comes asking what you wnat to do with the device and also gives the option to do this every time the device is inserted. I accidentally hit for XP to automatically open Windows Media Player every time I plug in my mp3 player when I really meant it to always take no action.
Is there anyway to reverse this and stop WMP coming up every time I put in the mp3 player ?

    Try this:
When the mp3 player is plugged in go into 'my computer', right click on the mp3 icon and select autoplay, a window will pop up giving you the option for no action to take place.

Always. It amazes me how Microsoft seem to manage without fail, time and time again, to make their stupid pop-ups so damn annoying.

None of their visual tweaks since 95 have been anything other than annoying filler.

For some people, that may be true. However I believe a lot of people find the pop up message described above to be very handy - especially for the real non-techies out there.
