    Are u an O2 user?
If so, try O2 Desktop Text

It maybe more of a business solution, but it may meet your needs.

There is an open source perl script called o2sms that allows you to send a text to a certain person via the command line. Despite it's name it works fine with Vodafone and Meteor. Most systems have perl already installed (except windows, but google for active state perl and you can run perl programmes on win32). You could create a shell script that takes a message and a list of numbers and sends the message out to everyone on the list. It should't be too difficult of you have a bit of programming experience. It should do exactly what you want.
