Gloucster V Bath - Powergen Semi-Final

Fantastic match, as a neutral i would've loved it to have gone that 90 seconds further as a draw. Does anyone know of any televised games where the "Drop Goal Competition" was used? The idea intrigues me but i think it'd be difficult enough to control/referee, because players could take an extra step or two. Does anyone have any information on this method of breaking a deadlock? Where the kicks are taken from, who takes them. etc etc.

Wasnt impressed with the match, couldnt care less who won. But I was gutted when Bath got in for that last gasp try.

Havent got a clue what a drop goal competition is (sounded like it may have only been 1 player from each side having X number of kicks each, but I'm doubtful the commentary team knew much about it either), but I'm positive it would have been great entertainment.

  • i was gutted also, really wanted it to go into the unkown that is drop goal competition. 90 seconds too!
