I got a new hard drive for my xbox last month. Last night I discovered that it seemed to be not working. I tried to format it on windows but it wouldn't be detected. It was detected in the bios, but not in windows.

Is there any way for me to check if the hard drive is faulty before I have to go and rma it?

If you had the disk in the XBOX then it is probably locked - you will need to unlock it on the XBOX before Windows will see the disk

yeah, I did lock the hard drive in the xbox.

I'll unlock it later on, and see if I can get it doing anything.
