    Hey,

Just curious on how much people spent on there Pre Papers - All of my subjects, except Home Ec, where €5 (some subjects like Maths and English had two papers, so thats €10 for the two papers). And on top of that during the pres we where told we had to pay €15 "Administration" Fees. This is my first year doing my pres, in Junior Cert I was just out of hospital so didnt do them.

    So here is how much:
    English €5 x2
    Maths €5 x2
    Construction €5
    Home Ec €5.50
Computers No Charge. (He is correcting them himself).
    Geography €5
    German €5
    Administrative Fees €15

Total Payed for Leaving Cert Pre Exam 2005: €55.50

I dont do Irish btw, so I didnt miss out on that. And Computers is the replacement subject which my school, the W.I.T and Limerick Institute place do only (as far as I know).

Ummm... I'm not sure if we did pay for the mocks. If we did, I don't remember, but I thought I would have... I'm in a fee-paying school so it probably comes out of that, nice to know they spend it on something other than the headmaster's cars

  • Computers is an actual leaving Cert subject? I'd be up for that, easy points!

€15 for the papers, then individual teachers organised sending them out for correction: English €10 and Irish €4

Everything else is being corrected in-house, at no cost to me.

    Jebus!

In our school we only had to pay 1 or 2 euro for our papers. Maybe it's because our teachers corrected them?

I don't know the specifics but my teachers set all mine except maths and french so I'm guessing they were cheap.

We got most of our pappers free except for Irish €10 and German €5. We didnt get charged for supervision. Its absolutly ridiculus if you did. I dont know how they run things in other schools but in my school there was 8 techers supervising 250 students (LC and JC) in the gym during my mocks where there would usualy be 12 when we are in class, which means there were 4 teachers on the doss at anyone time. If I was getting charged for that Id complain.

I think my school is the only school doing computers as a subject.

Apparently the papers where €5 euro each, then during the exams they told us theres "administrative" fees also.

Suprvision was done by the teachers who where teaching the JC and LC at that time. There where four classes to supervise. Each with a mix of JC & LC. We sat beside each other on the one desk.

The third years in our school are terrible, really wild and destructive.

All of my teachers are correcting mine apart from Maths, that cost 10euro. Its really annoying though, its going to take 6 weeks to correct, thats after easter! I think its waist of time thats far to late. I asked my teacher for a refund and a copy of the marking scheme and that id do it myself but he refused.

Supervision in my school is organised based on a normal school day. If a teacher is assigned for a class with 6th years between 1.30 to 2.05 they must supervise during that period. SO paying for supervison would`nt make sense because they are working as time tabled normally.

Sorry to hear that - its much better off getting the paper corrected. Thats what the pres are all about!

only got 3subjects sent away..my other subjects were corrected by my teachers.

    biology E5
    business E5
    Irish E10
    grand total of E20

we didnt get charged for supervision: teachers who would normally have the 3rd or 6th yrs at that time supervised or teachers who had free classes.

appartenly it costs my school around E6000 to do the pres with the buying of the actual pre papers and writing paper etc...
