I'm having trouble with my Pioneer 108 dvd/rw. When I'm burning dvds every 3rd or 4th fails. The drive is only only 2 months old and i've had no problems until this week. I'm using XP and Nero. Its an external drive pluged into a USB2 port. Would a firmware update solve anything? Or what can I do?

Yeah I thought it might be the disks at first but I've tried three differant types,
    {DV 3192} Ritek Inkjet Printable (8x) ADVDINFO: .RITEKG..05
    {DV 3141} ANV Ritek A-Grade (8x) ADVDINFO: .RITEKG..05
    {DV 3121} Datawrite Grey (8x)

All with the same results, I usually burn them at 8x but I've got a few bad ones at 4x too

yeah you seem to have a bit of a burning problem.
are you burning 8 speed from dvd to writer? or from an image?
if burning on the fly i recomend alchol 120 never lets me down
how much were you paying for the 8 x riteks

if youre interested 100 grade AA
    RITEKS 45euro.have a few hundred.
    8 speeds.

are you ripping the origanals? or burning from dvd r to image then to dvdr
    if so use dvd decrypter.
anv media are not great to be honest.

no worries mate i use a hell of a lot of them so i buy big.
i split what i dont use and flog them on here.
i do a lot of pop/rock bands promo videos to dvd for demos etc and i will not use rubbish media.
the 108 is a good piece of hardware.
i got the 109 same spec but writes dvdrws a little faster.
this guy on here may have software problems
nero etc have certin faults with confliction of other programs
well thats what i have noticed
