    anyone know of a FREE AVI to VCD converter.. have been using trial version of Aare but it leaves the crappy sig on each file you create till you register it...

    You could try the trial version of nero. tmpegenc is pretty slow stuff.

    thanks for the suggestions guys. used TMPGEnc - bit slow but does the job.. u can also add a batch of files to go one after the one i think..

    anyway while were talking about this - dont suppose you know of any freeware dvd burning software do you? :) for both copying dvds and buring files to dvd.. everything i come across seems to be shareware!

    Check the Essential Software Thread, there is one there CDBurnerPro or something.
