Extracted a reply out of the Sports Dept, ULIV is on for the Saturday 19th of March. Usual groups will apply. Start times to follow.

Am trying to get them to un-knacker the big net at the back to give us 100% coverage, and I promise this year we will have target pins.

Once I have a full list of the medals etc I have to buy(later on today most likely), I'll find out the cost and let ye know how much cash to bring to the ULIV. Non-paying teams will be sumarily executed without trial.

    Sunshine and laughter,

    Ewan

Hi, I'm the events officer in DCUAC.
Do you have any other information about the time ( at what time we start shooting, ...), how many people can come... ?

I reckon, and this is a bit provisional, that the first group(NUIG, UL, GMIT etc) will start at 10, and then the second group will start at around 12:30, but this is subject to change.

As for numbers, Im provisionally going to say 10 per group, but again, this is subject to change.

DCUAC is coming by the train and we'd like to know how long it takes to go from Limerick station to the university. (by walking).

Maynooth will be getting the train too, 8:30 from huston. We usually get taxi out costs about €10 per taxi if i remember correctly. Alternatively you can walk down the town and get a bus that goes out to the college. Youll have to look up the bus details i can't remember the exact street or bus number.

Walk all the way to the college will takes forever.

yeah, we're gonna take the same train from Heuston. It is supposed to arrive at about 10.45 (I don't remember exactly).
I think we have time to walk as we start shooting at 12.30...
I have to see with my team if they prefere to take a taxi. (on the website, they say it is 6€ to go from the station to the university..)
my problem is that i can't find a map that shows me where the station is in Limerick...
I'll have a look for buses...

Did a few quick checks there:

Limerick University is 6km from city center, despite what most people think we all walk at about 4 or 5 km an hour. so it will take ye 70-90min to walk out to the college.....

    Got a map of limerick:
Train station and taxi rank are on Parnell Street, the big black blob :D
302 bus goes from William Street to UL every 20min, the blue blob ;)

Bus will be around €1 - €1.50 per person if i remember right.
    Taxi holding 4 people = €8 = €2 per person.

    Tanks!! That's a great map!
At what time is the second group supposed to finish shooting?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 486 ✭✭Aryzel

i would estimate around 5pm, but there is also a meeting after that, we need at least one rep from each college, and have contact details with you, email and mobile, for people that will be in your club in sept.

Been discussed at the meeting is be finalising the rules, the issue of the defering a years grace has been rasied, at the moment it is allowed, should it be removed for next season.

More importantly we should sort out jobs for next year. So if anyone is interseted in doing stuff next year come along.

oh, and last two trains home are 5:55pm and 7:55pm which is tons of time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 frirlandais

Yeah, I definitly think we're gonna take the train of 7.55.
Anyway, the other one is too early...
I will be in the club in Septembre.
I am currently Trips and events officer in the DCUAC.
Our chairperson will be at this competition as well.
About the bus, I found the 308 (the one on your map is 302)?

not sure about the bus number, but i know it stops at the blue blob on the map. You'll be able to check the actual number from the bus stop. Oh and try and have contacts for at least two people, a lot of things can happen over the summer.

P.S: the blue blob doesn't exist in reality :D

Will be emailing this out later:

Right, UL Intervarsity.... if youre getting a bus or a train down, they both come to the same place in Limerick city. You can either get the 302/308 bus(make sure its going in the right direction) from Williams Street, but its a bit of a gamble regarding arrival time to be honest. Taxis leave from outside the uni and will generally get you to the university without completely ripping you off.

The following teams, please bring 25eur with you to cover end of year trophies. Receipts will be available on the day:

    DCU
    Maynooth
    Carlow
    UCD
    GMIT
    NUIG
    DIT
    UL

Ive decided to not charge Athlone / Cork seeing as they are one-man teams.

    Entry fee is 7 eur.

    So to recap, essential facts:

DCU, Maynooth, Carlow, UCD, GMIT, NUIG, DIT, UL need to supply 25eur to me on the day of the intervarsity. Non payers will be used to feed my compound bow.

    Entry fee of 7 eur.

302/308 bus will get you to the university from William Street, but a taxi is a safer option.

If anyone gets hopelessly lost trying to find the sports building, give me a ring on (086) 1632473

Start times are 10 for the 1st group(UL, GMIT, NUIG, Carlow) and 12:30 for the 2nd group(DCU, UCD, DIT, Maynooth)

Please email a list of names and categories to archery@skynet.ie ASAP.

    Thanks

    Ewan
