    Won't work on all 6800LE cards though, right?

    iv'e seen lots of 128meg LE's are there 256meg ones? and does this work on both. pretty cool simplest tweak ive seen for such a huge jump in performance

    Well he seems to say that's the way the cards are actually made so I'd say it would work on all of them, even the 256MB since they still use the same core.

    NO! The 6800LE I sold here was never overclocked as I stated when I was selling it. It was the card I had before that card that I did overclock

    Holy **** that's laziness elevated to an art form! ;)

    So, is it possible to get 2 LE's (if there's PCI-E versions...), and have them running SLI, and get them up to Ultra speeds? ;)

    Soo tempting to get a 6800 just for the performance increase for half the price. has anyone tried this and confirmed it works yet?

    You can't really confirm that it'll work or not.

    On some cards it'll work fine, on others it wont. On some itll work fine for a while then the heat will nuke the card.

    If you're gonna flash an
    LE -> NU or
    LE -> GT or even
    NU-> GT
    you NEED to put better cooling on the card. Otherwise the heat is ognna get to it and sooner or later you're gonna have an expensive paperweight. Even with improved cooling the card may die after time.

    They dont sell those cores as LEs and NUs for no reason. There has to have been something wrong with them to go in the lower speed-bin (unless they were just short of dud cores and you get lucky)

    i tried this on my LE and it`s taken me 3 hours to get back to normal. it certainly wont work on mine.

    Spot on - that's the holy grail of overclocking!

    Most of the time it's just cynical marketing, some of the time there is some QA testing driving the label. We all want those that fall into the first group :D

    is their any list of core model numbers that it is confirmed to work with , like there was for the x800pro extra pipeline mod??

    Iirc the 8 pipes to 16 pipes always works. It then depends on the core / cooling / memory etc how far you can software overclock and your willingness to try a BIOS flash...

    Note that the memory on a 6800LE is no match for GDDR3!
