I'm wondering where I stand with a return.
I bought a linksys wireless router, The problem is there is to much interferance around my house to use it.
ie video senders wireless phones and I think the neighbours have some stuff to.
Where do I stand with returning it to the shop where I bought it for a full refund as its useless to me?
    Any ideas

    Thanks

Most places will probably take it back if you still have all the packaging, though I don't think they're obliged to. They just do it because it looks bad if they don't :)

Have to say though, 802.11b/g shouldn't get signal interference (enough to cause degredation of quality) from your phone, or most other things in your house.

    Quote from LinkSys Knowledge Base

2.4 GHz interference: Your Access Point may be operating on the same frequency as your cordless telephone system (or even a neighbor’s system). Try to change your Access Point’s channel to 1 or 11 (the default is 6) and restart the wireless computers.

    Gosh,

You may have come up with the answer. Good man. I'll try it later, Let you know

While testing the router in work ( works perfectly) I found a few other networks
one wide open with 1 mb download speeds
makes me think should I setup a wireless PC with a big hdd . .

Although they may be unintentionally wide open there could be a more "sinister" reason - remember you could be sending down personal data, passwords, credit card details - just what they want - be careful ...

I've moved to central London and I can see 6 wireless networks right now on my pda ... I must really really piss some of them off when I use my wireless phone and/or videosender .... I can hear the interference on the phone (with videosender turned off) ... high pitched buzzing ...
They cant have been getting good speeds anyway with that many AP's around the place .... especially with superG and all that other shíte that bleeds into loads of different channels.

Thank god I went for 802.11a ... nothing there, just me ...
    /me pats his HR314: that'll do Netgear, that'll do :D

(the downside is that Netgear tech support is the worst i have ever come accross ..... )
