    Hey Guys,

I'm off to Agadir in Morroco on Saturday, was wondering if anyone else had been there and if you could reccommend stuff to do, what it's like, stuff like that?

    Thanks!

Agadir is great, there' a lovely long beach(we rented a boat and went sailing for a day) some great mosks(sp) but I'd highly recommend a day trip to Touradant(about 4hr drive) or MArakesh(two days would be best caus its along drive). There loads of theme trips you can take, like a berber day/dinner. When you get there the hotels have loads of tours and I'd recommend going on one of them at least. There is a small market in Agadir but if you are going to Touradant or Marakesh buy your stuff in the markets there as they are much bigger and cheaper. It is expected that you haggle, its part of their culture. Every shop you pass will try and get you in to spend your dirty notes, they offer mint tea which is part of their custom and just because you accept some tea does not mean you have to buy anything.

'La Suicra' as in sugar as gaeilge means 'no thanks', it will serve you well.

Try the Tagine's, a kind of moroccan stew. Olives and oranges over there are just sublime. ALso try the moroccan pastries... they are to die for. The moroccans like sugar so much that many years ago the ripped huge chunks of marble off buildings to swap for sugar!

Also you will be offered # everywhere. If you are so inclined, be carefull who you buy from. Do not buy near your hotel. You can afford to be choosey about who you buy from.

Appart from that, have a great time and try the local 'el presidente' red wine, its very good.

man I'd love to be going back this weekend!

    M.

    Hey thanks Milkman!

much appreciated! I'm a bit nervous going on my own, but I'm sure it will be ok! The day trips like a good option when I get sick of my own company!

thanks again (I'll try and post photo's when I get back!)
