    Hey,

My girlfriend and I are going to be travelling from London to France by Eurostar. But the tickets are about €300 return. This is Economy!

    Why are they so expensive?
Is there any way to get them cheaper, or at least at a reasonable price?

    Thanks.

Book in advance or wait till last minute for cheap deals (booking in advance is better though). Try to be flexible with your times (generally early morning and mid-evening are expensive for obvious reasons). Back when I was in France I had the student railcard and it was €75 return from Paris - London on the Eurostar.

EDIT: is that €300 each or €300 for 2?

I just put in some random dates and got returns for €85 but it depends on what time/day you want and how far in advance you book, same as with airlines.
