Have Maplin opened in Blackpool shopping centre yet? They have a premises there, but I haven't seen it open any time I've been there - but then again it's always been late in the evening when I'm there (often after 6pm)

There's a good tool shop on Oliver Plunket St towards the Grand Parade end - that's a possibility.

Chip electronics in Ballincollig? I got a pretty decent toolkit from there not so long ago that has an anti-static strap in it.

Maplins opened today in Blackpool. A bit OTT on some of the prices out there but there are very few places in cork that do some the stuff they do.\

    Very handy.

I've always used a 6ft length of 30Amp wire attached to the earth pin of a plug.

Wrap one end round your wrist & plug it in.....just make sure you know how to wire a plug !!
