What LCD?

I'm looking at buying an lcd panel on behalf of someone who trusts me more than themselves in these matters

They're looking at either a 17" or a 19"...It will mainly be used for general computing, a lot of DVD's and also for games...

I've picked out the BenQ FP937s 19" and the Samsung 710T 17" as two that I think are good...any of the reviews I've read seem to suggest the same...what do ye think?

Also where should I buy it...I usually use Komplett myself but I see Jes have the BenQ for less...is there much hassle involved in buying from Jes?

DVI makes a huge difference on TFTs

I got myself the 19" Iiyama from Komplett recently and my flatmate got the 710T, both fantastic screens in every aspect.
Especially as Samsung has the best pixel policy of the bunch, by replacing the screen even if a single pixel fails within the first two weeks

What model Iiyama? What's it like with DVD's?

Having thrown back a few prices and specs the 19" seems to be winning...

Check out jes-computer.de for great TFT bargains. Shipping costs between €20 - €40 depending on weight.

I got a Viewsonic VP171B-2 a few days ago. With 8ms response time, I find it very easy on the eyes for both games and DVD playback.

There's a review of it on El Reg's website at:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/02/16/review_vs_vp171b/

    Got it from OcUK

Does the Samsung 710T come with a DVI cable?

If I had the bucks I'd probably go for a 19" Iiyama. Have the 17" Iiyama E435S and it is sweet, excellent screen, completely free of dead pixels very bright and a good response time.
