USB 2.0 upgrade?

I'm just wondering what would be required for me to upgrade my USB from 1.1 to 2.0.

Is this a messy job? I can find my way around the inside of a pc but I have my limits.

PCI USB 2 card.

Any modern OS (Win 98SE or higher, Linux etc).

Slot it in, install the drivers (if needed, 2000 and XP don't).

As my pc (dell large tower) has a number of ports at the front and back will these then be pretty much redundant?

That card you link to is an IDE controller (for extra hard drives, CD/DVD drives etc).

As for the other ports, no they will not be redundant as you can use them for your old USB 1.x devices.

The old USB 1.x equipment can also be plugged into the new USB 2.0 sockets but there will be no performance increase.
