My media player doesn't work

    whenever I access my media player it never responds. I have a windows xp home edition 2002 hp pavilion. Anyone know what i should do? :confused::confused:

    Are you using version 10? If not try downloading that and see if it gets rid of the problem.

    Im usin the very latest version, whenever i click anywhere on the player it just comes up in brackets (not responding)

    Are your sound drivers installed ok? Do you have problems with sound from other things like games? Did this error suddenly start occuring?

    yup, just happened out of nowhere, don't know skit bout no sound drivers but sound on games works ok

    Try downloading winamp to see if music plays on that. If it does WMP is the problem, if it doesn't its a bigger underlying problem.

    have you got a link because even loading up my WMP seems to cause it not to respond, I paid for this system called ares and it has a Media Player too but when I click play it does'nt respond either.

    I downloaded winamp, plays perfectly but i cant burn on it, something about choosing the right directsound output? it then comes up " decodercannot be used to decode for burn." what'll i do
