hey, i had my 21st at home too as im not too fond of the whole formal thing.

my birthday was in June though so we had a BBQ down the garden and the guests were in the house and out on the decking. luckily the weather was good enough and we kept going til about 8am :D

to be honest as far as suggestions go, i'd recommend doing what you want to do music and food-wise. it is your party afterall. ;)

one thing i never could understand about food at a 21st was having a CURRY!! why???! the last thing i want to eat when im having a few beers is a curry!

Bouncey castle, Sumo suits, lots of drink, good food, music + people = a 21st of madness :D Can't go wrong there :)

    Happy birthday in advance!

well it's been 5 years since my 21 but the key to mine wass lots of free alcohol and tbh not much else. Just make sure you have more beer than could possibly be drank.

If you worry to much about throwing a good 21st you won't enjoy... it so my advice is to keep it simple and keep it fun.

    oh and Happy Birthday :D

I had my 21st at home but it was in winter, so we had chicken a la king to eat plus loads of finger food and stuff.
The only thing that wasn't the best thing about it was the relatives my parents invited and the song they wrote about me (don't ask it's a family tradition  )

Pin the tail on the donkey and spin the bottle are always good....no wait that was my 12th birthday.

Music (if you have a guitar a sing-song is always good). Alcohol, always helps. At mine we had a bucket and just filled it with spirirts, juice, ice and straws. Was good laugh. Go with finger food aswell, cocktail sausages, chips, anything handy to eat.

eh... beer and curry are a match made in heaven!

did sweet **** all for my 21st... just called round to a mates and smoked a few doobs (one of which was about a foot long :o )
i hate being the centre of attention, so that was perfect for me.

Fancy dress is the only way to go!!!!!! Everyone is in a great mood before they even get there, and all hyped up etc. Of course you have to have the best costume as the star of the show

Yeah some dress up night adds humour.

Apart from that just avoid the 21 kiss thing, thats so cringey and if your friends are any use they will order a fat stripper or something like that :)

Fancy dress is the way to go alright. We did it for my 21st and two of my mates and we had a mad time. You might also need a couple of kegs as one keg won't last that long if your friends are big drinkers. We had two kegs at one party between about 20 peeps and they only lasted bout 3 hours... and everyone was drinking shots as well!
You could also consider renting a house if you don't want to have it at home. We've had 21st's in Limerick, Galway, Kilkenny and a lighthouse in Clare. It's cool for a change of scene and something mad always happens when you're away. At the moment we're planning a 25th in Dingle.

I think ill leave out the kegs, they are messy and expensive and dont offer variety, thats just my opinion though...

definitely a bouncy castle and about ten trays of beer. thats all youll need really. get the music going, make sure youve a big music collection available.

then just go with the flow and dont be too stressed.

I may well get a bouncing castle, how much would it cost, anyone got any ideas?

    Make it a masked affair.

    All attendee's must be masked.

    Eyes Wide Shut style.

I did a BBQ in my back garden. Twas the beginning of April, and it was freakishly warm (like T-Shirts in the back garden, in Ireland). BBQ went on till about 8ish, then into the house to finish quaffing 4 crates of beer (I bought one), 2 bottles of vodka, a bottle of whiskey, and other assorted BYOB's, between around 20 people. Good laugh. Nothing special. Some tunes from my comp, some workmates, some old mates, and Slaanesh from boards was there.

Quite a good few, my friends, my brother's friends, friends of the family, etc. The more the merrier!

Oh and do ya know what's excellent - wearing a sumo suit while IN the bouncey castle! That was hilarious :D Twas gas watching people drunk bouncing around and in the suits as well.

You can get a bouncey castle with a slide too, but we didn't know that til after. Slide would've been fun!

Oh and we played Twister too in the bouncey castle - now that was tough :D

Oh and we had enough drink and food to feed the whole of Ireland!
