    Hi,

I have a Creative Zen NX MP3 Player that stalls on boot. It does turn on after about 5 minutes and then it it unresponsive to the buttons and the USB link to my machine doesn't show the player as connected.

Is there anything I can do?
Is there a good repair place?

    Thanks
    M

Yea the whole creative zen range is ridiculously prone to breakage. I already had my zen xtra replaced twice, once for notorious headphone jack issue and another time for what seems to be the problem your having, namely, hard drive failure. When i got it replaced the second time they gave a brand new 60g version instead of the 40g version i sent to be replaced, cant complain about that i suppose. Mines out of warranty now so i cant wait till it breaks again so i can just go and get an iriver and not have to worry anymore!

Anyway in relation to your problem it may still be salvageable but you might have to format the hard drive. Check out THIS faq on www.nomadness.net for some very comprehensive common error troubleshooting.

Let us know how you get on anyway ;)
