I tried to take a screen shot of a film and all I got was a black square, used a couple of programs none worked, used a screen recorder and everything.

Didnt know I was doing anything illegal .........or that i could be stopped

So is this a new thing or what

no its not.

its hardware acceleration.

go into your video players options and disable it hardware accleratio while your taking the screenshot

em, Im using real player cos wmp wont open the file as it is on the rte website. So tools--> video controls : nothing there
tools-->preferences: nope.

Control planel : not even sure what to look for.

Im lost

Can I use a program other than real or do you know how to configure real

i use media player classic and real alternative.

havent touched real player in years, too much ads and bloat.

if you download mpc [google for it]
you can set it up in there
