dual external hard drive?!?

    lo, i was wondering if it would be possiable to build one of these? i know you can buy the enclosures and put your own hdd in em, so if ya got an ide cable with 2 connectors would your pc register the 2 hdds?
    has any one tried this or any sugestions?

    im trying it now but not having very much success.

    Wouldn't SATA, firewire or USB 2 be better given the strict length limits on IDE ribbon cables, and lack of external adapters?
    The above usually have support for safe hot plug also.

    It's simple enough to daisychain firewire devices. External sata is still maturing but it might be best for booting/raid.
