I know Italy have not won many matches in the Six Nations Championship since they joined but can anyone tell me what those victories were and when. Thanks

They beat Scotland in Rome last year, and I they beat Wales in 2002 (also in Rome). I don't know the scores though...

Edit: Sorry, they beat Wales in 2000

I guess that we shouldn't forget Irelands old days.

1997: Italy won 22-37 in Bologna
1997: Italy won 29-37 in Dublin (Lansdowne Road)
1995: Italy won 12-22 in Treviso

In fairness, I don't think we had our best 15 out in any of those games?

In fairness, I think we definitely tried to win 2 of the 3. (The one? Treviso I think, was RWC95 selection game). In the other 2 we just had a poor team, and they had a much stronger team than they have nowadays...

rob henderson was the main problem in that 1997 dublin game.....he just couldn't cope with the pace of his italian opposite number who ran past him at will all game....edit: i think it was christian stoica

Oh dear, think you could be right actually - in fact I think I went to one of the games in Dublin now I think about it. How short our memory can be! :D

What do you mean "Ireland used to have a bad rugby team"? Sure we've been unbeaten for weeks, possibly months!

    :D

I can just imagine a load of wooden spoons being thrown out from Lansdowne Road in the middle of the night...
