FX Meister - how is the LUAS shot effect achieved (the background being B&W and the LUAS train in colour?) TIA, Duncan

I use a Canon 300D. For that flick I used photoshop to make the Luas colour and the rest black and white. I used the lasso tool to select the luas, reveresed the selection and then used the adjust saturation tool in the one of the menus to bring the saturation all the way down.

I love the orange fire effect @ the end of the lane. Gives a certain "hell" effect/ "the road to hell".
