Question about connecting the decoder to the dish

I have just got sky multi room installed and the cabling job done was not very good. The black cabling put in by the sky installer was put along the edge of the ceiling and sticks out like a sore thumb. It does not do much for the decor of the room. I would like to re-do the cabling so it runs along the skirting board. What will I need to do this? Is there a certain type of cable and connections used or is it just standard television cable and connections? I can not use the original cable as it is too short.

Thanks in advance for any replys

I would recommend CT 100 cable which you can get in either black or white and you also need F connectors for either end, the connectio to the LNB at the dish should be weatherproofed with self amalgamating tape. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the installer

Is it possible to get a male-female connector so instead of having to reconnecte the cable to the minidish, I just have to extent the cable thats already there. Where can you get ct 100 cable

You get use a double female "barrel" F connector and use two males to extend the cable. If you look in the sticky above theres a list of paces where you can buy satellite equipment.

I'd be a bit wary of this since it does not say what cable they are using in the kit.

It is CT100 hat Argos sell, it also comes with the Double female F-connector, I bought four of them to install my Freesat system using the Quad LNB that I had, although it is only available in black, I had to paint mine as the missus was moaning about a black cable messing up her decor.......
