Mozilla Thunderbird password

I've installed Mozilla Thunderbird on a family computer for checking multiple mail accounts. Unlike Outlook Express, it doesn't seem to have a master password for logging into the profile. I just want to be able to stop other people reading my mail. It seems to have a password thing that allows you to login into the mail accounts to check for new mail, but this doesn't stop you from browsing what's already there. Anybody know if this password protection exists, surely it does.

I only installed Thunderbird today so I'm a total noob, but here is my best help:

Firstly, check out the Mozilla Knowledge Base

Thunderbird uses your windoze profile to locate your emails.
So if your family all have their own profile then it seems each persons emails should be separate.

Not sure if that gets what you are after, if not this may be:
    Navigate to:
    Tools > Account Settings
    - select your account, then select Server Settings
    - click the Advanced... button
    - select the POP tab
    - select the Inbox for this Server's account

I had a quick look at Identities too but I'm not sure it's any help:
    Navigate to:
    Tools > Account Settings
    - select your account, and click the Manage Identities button
    - click the Edit button
    - select the Copies & Folders tab

    causal
