Hey - I have been using a beta version of Gmail for a few months and I thinks its the business..no spam..1Gig limit and no deleting of your whole Inbox (Hotmail - take a bow) anyway I have 50 invites to gmail , I have given all my friends an invite so I thought I may as well spread the wealth. PM me ur email and Ill invite ye - dont worry I have no intention of emailing you in the future..just think Hotmail need to be thought a lesson.

    Hey

That's sounds great! But I'm a little weary of Gmail's offering of 1GB storage. Have you received much spam since having your mailbox setup?

theres already a gmail invite thread guys, do a quick search, you may be able to offload your invitations there but i doubt it as every one and their dog has a gmail account by now, and gmail's spam filter is workin ok for me :D

Yeah, spam protection is v good. Course you have to be careful yourself. Don't go posting your mail address on the interweb anywhere :)

GMail spooler. If you want a gmail invite you request and invite. You get added to their queue. If you have a gmail invite to give away you send it to them. It makes the process of getting and sending gmail invite quick and easy.

I was wondering if it was just me having difficulties... right at the very moment I really have to get into my inbox. Feckin annoyin'.

Although it is the first time I've ever seen the server being down, which I can't say for Hotmail/Yahoo.

It has a different user interface than yahoo or hotmail, eg. you cant forward a funny email to a few friends as easy as you could with hotmail if you acess it thought the gmail website, but if your using an email program like outlook, the only difference is that you have a gig of storage and you can send and recieve 10 mb attachments, im not sure how big yahoo and hotmail attachments are, hope this helps :D

Yea the spam filter is nice and learns based on other accounts. For example, I mark something as spam that got through (which is nearly never) it automatically moves everyone elses copy into the spam folder.

It also has a report Phish attempt. Once you flag it, it automatically moves others who have a copy of the mail into the spam folder and disables the links in the mail as well puts a huge warning on the mail it is a possible phish attempt. Keeps the newbies safe.
