FS2004 Framerates

    Have a BIG problem with framerates in FS2004.

    PC Spec is Dimension 8400, 3.2Ghz, 1 gb ram (533), Radeon X800XT 256Mb (Gddr3), 2x 74GB raid 0 raptors.

    FS2004 should run like a dream but i can only get framerates (fraps) of 7-8 on MINIMAL settings.

    Have latest patches for directX, radeon,windows, etc.
    I am getting a 3D Mark05 score of 5500 - so overall no prob with the system.

    I have shut down all non-essential services.

    Am stumped !!!!!

    Any ideas welcome

    Does this only happen with fs? Don't know what could be causing it but these guys might Irish Flight Sim Design. They have loads of irish scenery for fs aswell.

    other games rome tw, half life 2, doom 3 all run fine !

    That means it's probably a game issue (have seen this before in other games myself). Have you the latest game patch?

    Best to check the forums for FS. Could be a hardware incompatibility or something.

    fs2004 is very picky with graphics drivers, try updating to the newest, or rolling back to older ones. Also, it takes more power to run fs2004 at full detail even tho its older, so try adjusting detail levels too, and try turning Anti Ailiasing off, as there is a setting in game to do that.
