tv freq for mythtv

    im trying to setup mythtv but i cant get any channels tuned in.
    Ive got a pvr-250 capture card
    I run mythfilldatabase --manual and get asked for details about the channels which i dont know. Tried running scantv but I just get "invalid value for input: Television" - i cant find any config files for santv - even create a ~/.xawtv file but the options arent picked up.
    I tried just entering general values for the channels but i dont have any frequencies from xawtv.
    Have other ppl come accross this when setting up mythtv - how do i get the channels set up ?
